The Floating Islands, Lake Titicaca

These floating islands are the home of the Uros tribe, one which pre-dates the Incan civilization. According to their legends, they existed before the sun, when the earth was still dark and cold. They were impervious to drowining or being struck by lightning. They lost their status as super beings when they disobeyed universal order and mixed with humans, making them susceptible to contempt.

Sao Paulo – Graffiti

Sao Paulo has one of the worlds most distinct and hardcore graffiti scenes in the world, these guys don’t mess about.
Derelict 30 story buildings frequent the skyline bombed the whole way up. 5 inch ledges, stories up, give foot space for full pieces and the unique lettering style that gives Brazilian graffiti the reputation of being one of the most diverse in the world. Sao Paulo is definitely not one of the most traditionally beautiful city’s in the world, but it’s definitely one of the most culturally rich.

Continuing with the animal theme this week, here are a couple of pictures of some Hermit Crabs that I was playing with in Fiji on Christmas Day.

Crystal Palace Eiffel Tower

I really haven’t found the time over the last couple of weeks to properly put the 5D through its paces, but I did have the chance to get some nice exposures of the TV Transmitter in Crystal Palace. You can really see just how much light the 5D picks up on simple 20/30 sec exposures in almost pitch black. More flicks to follow…

Marrakech – Souks

Another one from the archives, an early 2009 shot from Marrakesh in Morocco.
The Souks in Marrakesh are a like paradise for photographers, so many sights, sounds, colours & smells. I would definitely go back to Morocco for more of an explore next time…
